Dirty Dogs - Mobility, Core, Movement Prep.

  WARNING: if you are suffering from lower back pain do NOT do this exercise. If you have no back problems then great. Try to push your heels to the floor and touch your toe, this produces a great stretch through the lower leg and into the hamstrings. Perform the movement slowly allowing the abs to work hard as they resist your movement on the way down. Keep the legs straight at all times to get maximum benefits and don't forget to breathe. You'll be surprised at the amount of core strength that is required here, be prepared for some sore abs if you haven't done this kind of movement before. Real tough cookies can perform the Dirty Dog with a Reach. |
